→ Candace Owens pulled from YouTube over Kanye West claims

Candace Owens has been suspended from YouTube for a week for sharing a 2022 conversation with Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West.

The interview was pulled from YouTube for featuring claims that Jews control the media, a violation of the platform’s ban on conspiratorial claims targeting protected groups — though it’s still available on Spotify.

Owens claims the video was “mass reported by Zionists”, writing that “their tactics never change.” Much like Owens’s falling out with the Daily Wire last year, which won allies for her on the Left, this ban could serve to further amplify her profile. We haven’t seen the last of her.

→ Jordan Bardella ‘faked documents’ to escape fraud charges

It has been an eventful summer in French politics — and the drama is going nowhere. National Rally (RN) President Jordan Bardella has been accused of creating false documents to escape embezzlement charges from a brief job he had as a parliamentary assistant to a former MEP.

In 2015, when the RN was in its previous iteration as the National Front (FN) Bardella worked as a parliamentary assistant to former MEP Jean-François Jalkh. During this time, however, it is alleged by the French daily newspaper Libération that he was working for the party — not Jalkh — while receiving a wage from the European Parliament. The RN told Euractiv: “Jordan Bardella formally denies the false accusations contained in the Libération article.”

On 30 September, there will be a trial involving 27 party leaders, including Jean-Marie and Marine Le Pen, on charges of embezzlement. If found guilty, they could face fines of up to €1 million and 10 years in prison. Never a dull moment in French politics…

→ Melania Trump plays detective on husband’s shooting

The attempted assassination of Donald Trump has raised serious questions about law enforcement’s handling of the incident, given that Secret Service flagged the shooter but failed to detain him. Fortunately, the ex-president’s wife Melania is on the case.

“Why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech?” the former First Lady asked in a new promotion for her upcoming memoir, as ominous music played in the background. “There is definitely more to this story. And we need to uncover the truth.”

The usually private Mrs Trump has stepped up her social media use in the lead-up to November, also sharing an open letter following the July shooting as well as an ode to New York, a “colorful canvas where dreams come alive”. Will she crack the case?
