Tintagel in Cornwall, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur, has always been a mystical place. Perched on the edge of Atlantic cliffs, it is a where new age beliefs meld with Britain’s Celtic past.
It is also the home of John Mappin, who’s been described as the mouthpiece of Britain’s QAnon movement and as a prominent associate of American conservatism’s wilder fringes. Aris Roussinos spent the weekend with Mappin at his home, Camelot castle, to find out how (or if) these American beliefs have penetrated into deep England.

SubscribeInteresting. Part crazy, part sensible. Kind of like COVID “science”. Kind of like CRT. Grains of truth, perhaps taken too far in certain directions. Is buying into Q-Anon more or less crazy than believing in CRT? Difficult question…
Thanks for a balanced and interesting view of a unique personality.

ah , maybe links are not permitted – CRT here is Critial Race Theory
I was impressed by this work – impartial in the face of potential madness. The suggestions of there always being a 3rd party most likely usually have substance – witness current conflicts where Russia is/has supplied arms to both sides of conflicts. In that they are copying a playbook from the US of A arms manufacturers with links into the CIA and politicians. Where it goes awry is the intrigue and sheer stupidity of the conspiracy extensions which actually help these bastards get away with their exploits by putting off people taking it seriously… of course to take the “conspiracy theory” train of thought would mean that these very people calling it out are those are behind it! Now that’s irony.
When Unherd goes Unhinged. It’s interesting to hear alternative views, but please spare us the nutcases. British readers surely haven’t forgotten the sick nutcase Carl Beech who almost persuaded the police (and BBC) that there was a pedophile ring at high levels of government. What shred of evidence is there for a child trafficking ring led by Hillary Clinton? And as for Covid being the means to dislodge Trump…..Please!! At least Aris was evidently uncomfortable, which is an indication of his sanity.
