Great discussion. I think Dr. Bhattacharya identified a key issue when he said there should be term limits for NIH officials, and officials in other federal agencies, in the future. Fauci held senior roles in NIAID for forty years. He was like the J. Edgar Hoover of federally-funded biomedical research. Never again should anyone be allowed to occupy such a senior government role for so long.
