It’s worth remembering, when people rail against the purported chaos that’s ascribed to recent British politics, that Rishi Sunak is highly unlikely to be accused of an assasination attempt on Keir Starmer. “Stabbing” Boris in the back in order to further his own career seems pretty tame in comparison.
What this latest shooting does point up however, and following on from the assasination of Benazir Bhutto and other senior politicians who aspired to office in Pakistan, is that there’s a mindset which is alien to our values, and we need to be vigilant that it doesn’t gain a foothold within our democracy.

Khan was legitimately elected. He fell afoul of someone and was removed from office. He is easily the most popular politician in Pakistan. So its not unsurprising that someone might want to see him leave the earth.
