“You’d be forgiven for thinking that, at the comparatively young age of 64, President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov of Turkmenistan still had a good few years of dictatorial activity left in him. He is after all only four years younger than Xi Jinping and five years younger than Vladimir Putin, neither of whom show any signs of slowing down, and a full 16 years younger than Fidel Castro was when he retired after nearly 50 years of calling the shots in Cuba.
Yet this week Berdymukhamedov (who goes by the modest title of Arkadag — “protector”) caught both his own citizenry and Central Asia watchers off guard by calling for a snap election. It was time, he said, for “young leaders” to take over.”

With great respect, Daniel, I’ve edited your copy a bit. Kindly see below. I actually like mine better….
You’d be forgiven for thinking that, at the comparatively young age of 79, President Joe Biden of the Blue States of America, still had a good few years of dictatorial activity left in him. He is after all only eight years younger than Ruth Bader Ginsburg and eleven years younger than Fidel Castro was when he retired after nearly 50 years of calling the shots in Cuba.
Yet this week President Biden, (who goes by the modest title of Uncle Joe — meaning “protector of the common man”) caught both his own citizenry and North America watchers off guard by throwing in the towel. It was time, he said, for “young leaders” to take over. Uncle Joe nominated his eldest son Beau Biden to assume the presidency in his stead.
Informed by Peter Doocey of FOX that Beau was dead and had been for some time, Uncle Joe called him “a stupid son of a b@#tch.” When even CNN confirmed this, Uncle Joe froze, like a deer in the headlights, and then nominated Hunter…..

We get it, you’re not a fan of Biden. You don’t have to shoehorn it into every comment of every story, especially one about a mad leader in Central Asia

Seems it’s not your cup of tea. I tried. Some seem to think it’s funny.

Nice one James. Billy – the difference really is that one spouts poetry while the other just spouts.

Have you heard Biden’s latest on the “dead dog?” Unbelievable, except it’s Biden. For a time, I thought that Biden would never become president because of Woody Harrelson’s take:

Thanks. I didn’t know anything about Turkmenistan. I don’t even know its capital (Ashgabat, I looked it up).

The leader built a massive golden statue of his dog I believe, that’s about all I’m aware of the place

There was a giant golden statue of the last dictator. The gimmick was it rotated to face the sun. It was toppled by the current dictator in 2010.

He also wanted to rename two months in the calendar after him and his mother.

And reading his personally written sequel to the Koran was required for a driving license.

Compared with some of the World’s leaders that is just eccentricity.
