“a New Labour-style technocratic party such as the SNP”
Scratch the surface and it’s as Marxist as it gets in the western world.

Don’t forget the throw away insult towards middle aged men at the end of the article that made the article useless

SNP has nazi roots from 1934 founding ..Extreme ”Right” and cultural Marxist ”left”SNP due to get a hammering ,trying to cosy up to eUSSR is not clever or popular, 1) They have failed to improve Scottish nHS 2) failed to stop drugs deaths, amongst worst in Europe 3) failed with falling education standards
I am Confident Scots want a different tack,Post Exiting EU and Post SARS”2
The party was founded by one of the previous early Labour Party founders. None of its members were executed for treason after WW2 as John Amery (Heavily connected to the Tory Party) was.
It’s a left wing party. All left wing parties are related to the Nazis because Nazism is a left wing philosophy. I do wish people would stop breathlessly announcing this “discovery” as though the rest of us were too stupid to know already. By the way, there will be no “Post Sars 2”

Terribly sorry, but this article is simply unrealistic fantasy. I’m sure it goes down a storm on something like ‘Spiked’ but is pure ‘Planet Zanussi’ to anybody else.

” On one side: a managerial political class supported by a clerisy from the worlds of academia, ”
I think his passage should read ” On one side: a managerial political class supported by a clerisy who know what a ‘clerisy’ is.”
Anyway, I’ll believe this breakup when I see it (I just wonder how many more Tory and Labour leaders we will have to endure in the meantime).
Galloway and his pals are a joke. ALBA may get a seat or 2 but they are simply slightly more ‘fundi’ SNP nationalists. The Greens look like they may increase their List MSPs but the losers could well be Labour and, in particular, the Tories. I got a canvassing letter from the Tories this morning. No policies other than really, really, really, really hating the SNP and the thought of Scottish nationalism.
They come across as clueless.

This is not new. In the early years of devolution – possibly as a result of voters struggling to understand how best to use their second vote – a number of fringe/non-mainstream candidates were elected. Most were not re-elected at the next. While there is certainly an increasingly urgent need to repatriate power to communities, it is difficult to see a dramatic shift away from the main parties happening at this election.

“….given the Brexit type political upheavals.” I think you need to explain why you consider these “upheavals” to be significant to ordinary people. I don’t think they are.
