Offer the Scots a new referendum if they can live off their own revenue for five years.

Only this month have we learned that the SNP have managed to hike Scottish taxes while somehow reducing the amount of money brought in by the Scottish Government.

“We” in Scotland have not learned this at all if we’ve relied on Scottish news media.

A typical “top down” stance. Could it be that “the vast majority of the economic policy that makes lockdowns possible….is under Westminster’s control” because Westminster wouldn’t have it any other way? Please bear in mind that the peoples of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland did not choose to be funded by the back of a fag packet “mechanism” that is the Barnett formula, but that they did vote their respective parliaments into existence via referenda (something which cannot be said for the “Mother of Parliaments”) – with health as a devolved issue. They therefore have every right to take their own line on this, in the same way that the different states do in Australia or the USA.
