Having written the most popular book series in the world, spawning one of the most popular film series of all time, you’d think J.K. Rowling would be quite well-liked. Yet new polling reveals that the opposite is true among the younger generation. YouGov data shows that only 21% of 18-24 year olds like the Harry Potter author, while 53% say they dislike her.

By comparison, 38% of 25-49 year olds, 48% of 50-64 year olds and 49% of 65+ year olds are fond of Rowling. Meanwhile, 51% of 18-24 year olds like the Harry Potter books and 63% like the films. Who would have thought defending women’s rights would turn off the progressive youth?

Nancy Pelosi has claimed that the Democratic Party had an open primary to elect a presidential candidate after Joe Biden stepped down. In an interview with Semafor, the former speaker of the House of Representatives was asked whether the excitement around Vice President Kamala Harris was the reason the Democrats never had an open candidate selection process.

Pelosi replied: “We had an open primary and [Harris] won it. Nobody else got in the race, because she was politically astute…” This, of course, did not happen. No other candidate had the opportunity to challenge Harris. Pelosi also called Biden the most “consequential president of modern times” and said his endorsement of Harris was important in the decision-making process. Even more striking, 63% said podcasts changed their opinions on topics in the news. This must come as welcome news for Donald Trump, who is several months into his stint on the podcast circuit and has enjoyed viral moments with the likes of Theo Von and Logan Paul.
