Brexit was a big one. But it might also have been ex Labour Remain voters, like me, who have watched, horrified, at the events since 2016 and have now switched to being pro Brexit and pro Tory. Or it could also be that Labour’s woke identity politics lost quite a few people too. Or all of the above… Boris is nothing if not a corporeal representation of a Churchillian patriotism and positivity that appeals to many people. Corbyn on the other hand has never had anything good to say about this country, its history or its traditions (unless they belong to immigrants). It is no surprise to me they lost so profoundly.
