The ideas of the radical left — four day week, massive government spending, financial regulation, green new deal and so on — often sound attractive, but what would the effect be in the real world if they were actually implemented?
I sat down with left-wing economics writer Grace Blakeley to try to find out, and hear about her book Stolen.
I found her refreshingly realistic about the likelihood of capital flight and an adverse market reaction — she gives the example of Margaret Thatcher’s reforms as how to hold your nerve and carry them through — and surprisingly open to voices on the Right, many of whom will agree with parts of her agenda.
