Ironic that Putin himself has been the one to deal the death blow to any Russian-led “Central Asian Union.”
Since most have large Russophone populations, the logic of Putin’s invasion applies as much to places like Kazakstan and Uzbekistan as Ukraine. They would far more like to be vassals of China than Russia.
So, it’s the end of the Russian Empire–and the one who ended it is Vladimir Putin.
It’s like all of these vassals have forgotten about Georgia and Transnistria. Why Russia’s neighbours would trust Russia or its subversive diaspora is anyone’s guess.

When Armenia is in trouble, they call on Russia. Russia does not answer.
That’s because Russia CAN’T answer.
The CSTO leaders are realists. Both Tokayev and Pashinyan know that Russia’s army is decimated, and won’t be able to help them. Indeed, they can’t be sure that Russia will even exist in two years.
Гибель Империи, as the Russians say.
