For those wondering who won last night’s presidential debate, the latest round of online conspiracies offers some clues. Kamala Harris apparently performed so well that cheating is the only possible explanation, according to various Right-wing accounts, which are now circulating rumours that the Vice President’s earrings were in fact a hidden earpiece.

Harris’s jewellery does resemble that of a woman modelling a pair of $600 audio earrings in a now-viral advertisement from 2023. But high-resolution images from the debate show that the earrings aren’t quite the right shape, and are in fact a discontinued Tiffany item.
