In his latest career pivot, Robert De Niro has joined the Biden campaign, issuing a Hollywood-worthy warning today: if elected, Trump will end American democracy and remain in office for life.
“Under Trump, this kind of government will perish from the earth,” he said, referencing Lincoln’s Gettysburg address. “I don’t mean to scare you. No, no, wait, maybe I do mean to scare you. If Trump returns to the White House, you can kiss these freedoms goodbye that we all take for granted. And the elections — forget about it. That’s over. That’s done. If he gets in, I can tell you right now. He will never leave.”

Here, Americans are presented with something of a dilemma. If Trump is going to end democracy, then there’s really only one candidate they can choose, thus democracy is basically already over. Might make a decent film.

SubscribeThere are some people who foresee the end of democracy if Trump is elected – and yet choose not to remember that Trump has already been President and democracy didn’t end.
It’s possible that an elected Trump might slow the big state gravy train down a little. Perhaps that it what has engaged Robert De Niro?
Robert DeNiro and his unhinged ravings have been a boon to Trump generally, and it particularly illuminated the farce trial occurring NYC. If DeNiro’s goal was to influence well-adjusted fence sitters, he has failed spectacularly, along with corroding his professional legacy.
In think he already corroded his professional legacy pretty well with “Dirty Grandpa”.
