There are several other things that have helped Ron DeSantis. First, he has mostly stayed out of the abortion wars (that thing that the GOP just lost big time on) other than signing a bill that reasonably banned abortion after 15 weeks. Second, DeSantis handled the hurricane and disaster response in his state like any good governor is supposed to. This might not sound like much, but it is extremely rare. Third, he had populist economic leanings before he became governor. This means he was not imitating Trump and was being his own man. Whether he will stay this way under establishment pressure remains to be seen. Fourth he fights back against those who attack him without hesitation, but does it calmer, much more intelligently, and with better vocabulary than the only other guy known for fighting back. Fifth, DeSantis was willing to work with Democrat state legislatures and officials when it came to Covid. Most of the drama came from Democrats in Washington D.C. Finally, basic competent everyday governance. Seriously, do not underestimate this one. A lot of American governors do little governing and their constituents notice.

It also helped DeSantis that Florida Democrats are sanctimonious, obtuse and generally inept. They expand the boundaries of electoral failure.

But they still have senate and W. House. What does that say about their brand?

Observations:
Riddle me why all late precinct results end up with Democratic winners?
Notice in two national elections there has never been a Red spike like you see the steep Blue spikes.
Democrat Hassan gets 1100 votes in a town with a population less than 700.
Machines that worked fine in the primaries break in their first hour on election day, causing people WITH JOBS (hint) to leave for work without voting.
Republicans won the popular vote by 6 million votes and lost every tossup house seat.
Katie Hobbs overseeing her own election is like Pelosi being allowed to trade stocks that she has control over.
Florida cleans up its voting rolls/rules and Republicans win 60/40.

There is no mystery here. It’s cheating.
Require all voting to occur on election day. Make it a national holiday. Polls run from 12am to midnight. Government photo ID with residency required. Watch the Democrat party disappear.

Republicans have to learn to fight dirty. The days of gentleman Jim are long gone.

If the Republicans adopt DeSantis and his model in Florida, what successful and expandable model do the Democrats adopt in 2024?

Many prolife governors won in Ohio, Texas and Georgia; the abortion issue will be moot in 2024; More Democrats voted early giving them a head start in winning races we should have won; many Republicans did not show up to vote in large numbers in places like MIchigan, Pa and Minnesota where they could have won races that were competitive; The Trump factor hurt Republicans in competitive states. 2024 will be different; many Democrats will be defeated as they won in Republican districts; Democratic Senators in Republican states will either retire or lose; They will have a better turnout operation and vote early to better compete with Democrats and will have a presidential candidate who will fight the Democratic party on its own terms and expose the intellectual and moral bankruptcy of that party especially on law enforcement and cultural issues where they are most vulnerable. We will win the house now and the senate in 2024.

Latinos and Hispanics are God fearing. Democrats project baby sacrifice. Latinos and Hispanics are aware that nothing is free, that socialist way is the way to two classes i.e., the wealthy politicial thugs and the oppressed poor citizenry. Talk all the politics but Democrats will never supplant Latino culture with their one size fits all “we are oppressed” hustle. While native and some Americanized blacks have been able to profitably incorporate victimization by way of pulpit and the Congressional Black Caucus (at the expense of MLK jr) Latinos have one desire … to test the Bill of Rights to its fullest.

Rumors of Trump’s demise are greatly exaggerated. 80% of his endorsed candidates won. Inroads in New York and elsewhere. It seems the real problem is Mitch McConnell and other establishment RINOs.

Trump needs to finish what he started. Then we can go back to Presidents who don’t make “mean tweets.”

Most of Trump’s endorsed candidates were in safe districts so try again. The important and high profile ones all lost. Most conservatives and independents are tired of his petulant schoolboy attitude. DeSantis is a far better choice. The same fight without the ridiculous immaturity..

Except JD Vance, who won by 6% while Republican OH Gov DeWine won by 20%. Trump has become poison to moderates.
