Actually the most likely outcome would have been British Empire takeover of Alaska and incorporation later into Canada, alternatively (less likely) take over by Japanese Empire following Battle of Tsushima – Alaska was a logical addition together with Korea and Manchuria, or for that matter US takeover during Gold Rush. Hard to see how Russia could have managed to hold onto Alaska beyond 1860s. On the other hand, Russia successfully holding onto Alaska despite all the odds implies much healthier and stronger Russian Empire that managed to push back the British, Japanese and Americans – and that significantly reduces the probability of revolution occurring in 1918.
