It’s a very similar problem with joining a church. I’d feel attracted to the Catholic church but have a hard time accepting a hard line on contraception (with the world’s problems with climate change). re-marriage (my wife and I are both on our second marriages) and acceptance of homosexuals. Is there not an argument for joining with reservations, and thereby changing the mix of ideas in the group?
