One of the problems with intersectionality is that it carries with it the assumption that being a victim of one form of hatred or phobia does, or should, make you sympathetic to other forms. This need not be the case. Many men of racial or religious minorities are misogynists, many are homophobic. Some gay men are also misogynists, in some cases that may be intrinsic to their sexuality. If you are hard-done-by and another group is as well, it doesn’t mean they are on your side.
