In many ways Boris may be the most left wing Tory Leader in decades (e.g. on spending, immigration, and social issues); people shouldn’t be fooled by colourful rhetoric and a European issue that crosses political divides. He won the Red Wall on Brexit and neglect by the Labour Party. Perhaps he’s flexible enough to build a socially conservative movement, but it would go against much of what he’s done in the past and what his government continues to do.
