I think you are wrong to use prosecutions and criminal records of the Le Pens against them. Some of these are so clearly politically-motivated that they should not be referenced. After all, would you describe Nelson Mandela as a ‘convicted terrorist and jailbird’? The publishing by Marine Le Pen of images of Isis atrocities was in response to a journalist accusing her of being the same as Isis terrorists. It is surely reasonable to make it clear to everyone what Isis terrorists actually do in order to refute the allegation. No newspaper here in the UK would be punished for publishing these pictures and she certainly wasn’t glorifying terrorism – quite the opposite. Stick to criticising her economic literacy and campaigning/organisational ability if you wish to be taken seriously as a political commentator rather than just being a one-sided hatchet man.
