Geoffrey – good insights with fearmongering mixed in. It didn’t take long for the western cold war propaganda machine to mobilize against the ‘existential enemy’. Including hacks. This is only the beginning for DeepSeek. America will not tolerate Chinese superiority. Huawei and TikTok know this all too well. If US can’t out-compete they enemy they will do ANYTHING to trip them up. It is not just the billions and given to US tech corporations. The CIA budget is even higher thanks to the Tom Cottons anti-China bills and more. It is bi-partisan. You mentioned TSMC that were forced to come to Arizona (billions) to set up a very expensive chip plant where most of the workers are Taiwanese. Now Trump wants to put tariffs on Taiwan chips while they sell outdated military to protect against China. You mentioned MS and Apple and others who are still in China and being exploited. Why? Greed and bottom line. These corporations are answerable to their share holders not the people of America. Security worries? Disrupting issues? Ask how the people of Panama feel. Or Greenland. How about Canada? Or Gaza? If America is the model of modern day democracy some countries might pass. China has resisted this system and values for their own mix of free market, socialism, and strong central authority. A system that values security and safety over so-called freedoms. Geoffrey knows full well that there are many many freedoms in China. One is that they can leave anytime they want and never return. A yearly average (past 5 years) 140,000 million have left on holidays or business – all have returned. Let’s watch the ways the west will spin DeepSeek.
