My own MP who was Vice President of the Republicans has left the party, wanting to set up his own Gaullist party.
French politics is weird.
Rassamblement National got more votes in my village in the European elections but my guess is that was protest and they will return to their old allegiances andI suspect we’ll get a socialist clone.
