This week, Tom and Helen discuss the recent whirlwind of political events: Keir Starmer’s meeting with Donald Trump after announcing a boost in British defense spending, Volodymyr Zelensky’s fiery Oval Office press conference, and European leaders’ efforts to draft a peace plan for presentation to the U.S.

SubscribeBROTHERS IN ARMS
Starmer and Zelensky – such evil “brothers in arms”
Doing all that they can to bring us more harms
Their mission is simple: to bring America into the war
They want “boots on the ground” to settle the score!
Such utter madness could bring doom to our world
When rockets and nukes at each other are hurled
Back in 2008 Russia asked NATO to stop
Stick to promises made when East Germany closed shop
Six years later things just got worse with the US backed coup
In the Maidan uprising when real bullets flew
Too bad for democracy, too bad for East Ukraine
Their US puppet government attacked them again and again
After the 2014 uprising more than 14,000 were slain
Let’s try to provoke Russia with all this pain
As their plans continued, Mr Putin decided to get tough
Launched his SMO because he’d just had enough
The EU hawks loved it, the US poured fuel on the flames
So very good for business and the arms dealers’ games
Poor Britain and Germany just fell into line
America’s poodles since the beginning of time
Of course it could all have been stopped before it began
But Boris Johnson said “NO” – yes, he was that man
Harsh sanctions against Russia went down well with the Press
With tub-thumping rhetoric, politicians did their best to impress
But China and India took their chance to boost trade
And with Iran and North Korea some treaties were made
The BRICS trading block now includes half the world
A new multi-polar world order was being unfurled
Much closer to home the mad sanctions backfired
Not good for Europe – that’s how it transpired
Such a pity they all had to buy American arms
Such a pity they lost Nordstream with all of its charms
So nice for the US to sell so much natural gas
But it’s rather expensive, alack and alas
So here we are now and the world’s in a mess
While Trump and J D Vance play diplomacy chess
The UK and EU are in quite a spin
Shocked and upset at all the trouble they are in
NATO is finished – the US is pulling out
The EU is creaking though they still scream and shout
Mr Starmer wants to try on his Churchillian shoes
But if he puts boots on the ground we will sure as hell lose
Tom and Helen wake up. Trump is not in bed with Putin. He is a realist. Nato caused this war. Wake up.
