SubscribeThe suggestion that the man who was brought to the US illegally as a child by his parent who entered illegally somehow now qualifies for a pass because he’s married with kids doesn’t hold water.
There is virtually no reason why, when following logic, that the US should hold this man in any esteem, nor his family. His mother KNEW what she was doing when she entered illegally. SHE is the one who created an untenable situation for her child, not the US government.
I agree with the plan now being proposed — illegals must leave including men such as this and the decision is the family’s if they will stay together or separate. For example, if this man’s wife is a US citizen, she can either stay in the US or go with him to his country of origin. It is up to them to unwind the mess the man’s mother made, NOT the US government.
In any event, the illegal criminal is NEVER eligible for re-entry into the US again. Not to visit, and certainly not for legal residency. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Thank you, an interesting guest and episode. However, it also needed to cover the significant numbers of people being trafficked into the US.
There are almost 500,000 children that have been “lost” by DHS where they have lost touch with the so called “sponsors”, some of whom were criminals, gang members and felons, and DHS allowed to be released into the custody of the sponsors.
There would also be hundreds of thousands of women who are potentially trafficked and who aren’t tracked in the same way as unaccompanied children.
This is an enormous tragedy and hopefully a problem that the incoming Trump administration can get to work on immediately.
