Democratic Rep. Stacey Plaskett has claimed that the Department of Justice and FBI serve as a “check against white nationalism… and would-be dictator Donald Trump”.
Plaskett, a ranking member of the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, argued that the Republican-led subcommittee aimed to destroy federal security agencies in service of racism and fascism.
“We’re having these hearings so that you become immune, you become inured to the notion of the removal of the FBI and DOJ,” she said during a Wednesday hearing, “so that those agencies are no longer there to serve as a check against white nationalism, great replacement theorists, Christian nationalists, white fragility, fascists and the twice impeached convicted felon, former president and would-be dictator Donald Trump.”
The Select Subcommittee, chaired by Republican Jim Jordan, was created in January 2023 to investigate the federal government’s alleged collusion with private entities to censor conservative speech. As ranking member, Plaskett is the top Democrat on the GOP-led subcommittee. She has long objected to the investigation into this alleged collusion, accusing the GOP of trafficking in “conspiracy theories” to satisfy the “MAGA obsession”.
“What is the point of this subcommittee?” she asked. “Because it’s necessary for the public and the media to hear, to try and provide cover for the eradication of the Department of Justice and the FBI.”
Throughout the hearing, Plaskett also aired her concerns about Elon Musk’s X, saying she’s been subject to racist and sexist attacks on the platform and suggesting Musk himself is racist due to his South African upbringing. “You forget that this is not pre 1990s apartheid South Africa, the country of your birth,” she said.

SubscribeHigh ranking former members of the FBI signed a letter declaring the Hunter Biden laptop to have all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation, even though it had possession of the computer for two years. They did this at the request of a Biden flunky now in his cabinet. Nothing to see here though – other than racist, homophobic spreaders of disinformation. I don’t have the energy to hate people I have never met, but this Plaskett clown comes very close.

The American establishment is broken.
It has forgotten that law enforcement enforces laws and not politics.
It has forgotten its freedom of speech and democratic principles that mean if Trump was ELECTED as president, actually that means he was elected democraticly and is not in any way a dictator. The same applies to Biden. Who was elected in exactly the same way as Trump and also not a dictator.
Wtf do the fbi do these days.
It is kind of insulting to read this article and find that it does not mention the Twitter files findings even once. What reality is the author living in ?

Isn’t it racist to define someone by the foreign culture they were born in? Hence, it is racist to say that immigrants from Muslim countries might retain illiberal cultural attitudes as migrants. And it’s racist to say that illiberal cultures are incompatible with more liberal ones, (and might be worse places to live).
But not racist to define Musk in the same way.
Is it possible that words like ‘racist’ and ‘bigot’ are perhaps being used as facile political weapons by liberal elites??

This Congresswoman was the lead Democrat questioning Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger about the Twitter Files. She put on a snarky clown show of talking points and absurd questions. I guess she kept her notes for the current hearing.

Pay them no attention.

The IRS employees union has endorsed Harris. Look for it to do whatever it can to secure her election.
What do you mean “ranking member”? She’s a non-voting delegate from the Virgin Islands and her only job is to stoke racial grievance for fun and profit.
