These people love anniversaries. The attack was itself on the anniversary of the Yom Kippur war.

And here’s a surviving telegram from Himmler to the same Palestinian leader, Husseini, from 1943 :
‘The great Nazi Socialist movement of Great Germany has, from its inception, rebuffed its struggle against world Jewry. For this reason it closely follows the struggle of the freedom-loving Arabs, especially in Palestine, against the Jewish invaders. The common recognition of the enemy & the joint struggle against it are what form the solid foundation between Germany and the freedom-loving Muslims all over the world.’
This references a man questioned in 1942 by the Haganah, and what he said regarding the Stern Gang, which was a terrorist group. This would be like judging all of Islam on the Mufti of Jerusalem’s alliance with Hitler at the same period. Though the Mufti did represent a much larger and more mainstream cohort of his religion.
I posted about Husseini because he is literally the father of the Palestinian Liberation movement (not some random Jewish terrorist). And he was an actual Nazi.
And, as you rightly say, he represented & still represents a much larger & more mainstream cohort of his co-religionists.

Hamas are worse than the nazis: they have the same genocidal goals yet they use their own children as human shields & human bombs. Even the nazis didn’t do that.

So the University of Maryland has okayed a a hate protest against Israel and Jews everywhere. The kids involved know next to nothing about the history of the Middle East and Israel. Heck, kids aren’t even taught about the Holocaust anymore or read The Diary of Anne Frank like my Boomer generation did. Personally, I’m not happy with either side, and hope for a cease fire gets dimmer everyday. But the fact that the University has allowed anti-Semites to hold their protest on October 7 is just sick. Is there no decency?
Could they be so insensitive, I wonder. There must be a coincidence. Mix-up in someone’s diary.
