The problem with these bets is that a) it confirms that Sunak was telling people around him before he told *Cabinet ministers* that an election was going to happen, which goes against how government should run, and b) none of these people were ever going to get paid for their bets because they clearly had inside knowledge which invalidates the bet, so they’re stupid as well as unethical.

They certainly seem to have a systemic problem with moral judgement, covid parties, vip contracts, betting, etc. It seems as though they think as long as it’s ‘not illegal’, it’s fair game.
