Interesting video that , as so often on UnHerd, also brings up many more issues around the binary political atmosphere. Excellent nuanced interview by Florence Read.

For a brief moment I thought this interview was being conducted by Maria Sharapova

Just got round to watching this. Brilliant conclusions drawn at the end by Flo Read regarding how do we deal with the sense of guilt in the West for our empire-building which was undoubtedly exploitative, without throwing away the very nature of the industrial and psychological mechanisms which enabled us to build those empires; those mechanisms which are demonstrably the most successful and ultimately the most freedom-endowing mechanisms to date.

Speak for yourself. I don’t have a sense of guilt. If anyone wants me to apologise for the behaviour of my ancestors they first have to prove to me that theirs did nothing similar (or worse) or – crucially – would not have done had they had the opportunity. I’m not going to feel bad about the fact that my great-greats were more successful than someone else’s. Sorry.

“Very strong gender stereotyping” is a prime driver of misogynistic, homophobic gender ideology. Trans-identified men seem rarely to “become” sensible women; instead, they perform silly, sexualized caricatures. It’s as offensive to women as blackface is to blacks.
Research indicates a significant number of these males, mostly straight, are autogynephiles who, incredibly, have managed to have their sexual fetish protected by law and policy. Lesbians often end up absorbing the brunt of this madness, expected to accept in their social and sexual spaces “women” with penises.
Thanks from this American lesbian feminist to Moutot and Stern for their courage in speaking against this destructive ideology. I’m so glad the book is selling well. Keep fighting the good fight!
