The video quality isn’t tip-top, for which (some) apologies, but our webmaster Seb Giraud took the initiative at this event on the fringe of the UK’s 2017 Conservative Party Conference by recording proceedings on his smartphone. It’s not BBC/ITN/Sky/CNNetc broadcast quality but steady-hand-Seb has at least given UnHerd readers the opportunity to hear the Chief Secretary to the Treasury deliver her ‘reforming capitalism’ speech and (from 33 minutes a somewhat feisty exchange of views between me and Liz on some government priorities).
Tim Montgomerie was most recently a columnist and comment editor for The Times of London. Before that journalistic turn he was steeped in centre right politics, founding the Conservative Christian Fellowship, then the Centre for Social Justice and, just over ten years ago, ConservativeHome.com.
