It’s been quite a year at UnHerd. In the past 12 months we’ve increased our audience by more than 500%, with huge growth in the UK, the US and around the world; we’ve also launched our YouTube channel which receives millions of views per month.
We’re excited, not just because it’s great to see our terrific contributors and guests being recognised, but because we believe our mission has never been more important. Herd mentality continues to stifle much-needed debate, amid a climate of intellectual confusion and uncertainty about the values that really matter. As we move into the US elections and the next phases of Brexit and Covid-19, we are expanding our editorial and production team to make sure the difficult questions keep being asked, in a thoughtful and productive spirit.
US Editor (US-based)
This person will have experience commissioning and editing comment and analysis, an immersive knowledge of the US political and intellectual landscape, and a passion for discovering original and insightful new voices that offer more light than heat. Working closely with dedicated US Editor in London.
Commissioning Editor (UK)
Reporting to the Editor, this person will have a deep knowledge of UK and international media and a keen understanding of what makes a great UnHerd piece. Their sparkling editing skills and sharp eye for original talent will add to the vitality and originality of the site.
Audience Editor (UK)
This person will take charge of all our social media streams, so they need to have a knack for witty and interesting posts; they will also curate our growing email and subscriber lists and YouTube followers, as well as manage feedback and audience growth. They will know, love and want to expand our audience around the world.
After hiring some of our very successful former trainees, we are now re-opening applications for the editorial traineeship. This is a paid, full-time, six-month post that can lead to a fulfilling permanent staff role. During your time with us you will gain experience on all aspects of the editorial process, as well as audio and video production.

After the ongoing success of LockdownTV and Confessions, what next? Our audiovisual output is growing rapidly and as we open a new studio in central London, we will need to produce high quality programmes at speed. For this, we are seeking an accomplished videographer and editor who would thrive in such an exciting role.
Producer (UK based, but with strong interest in the US and wider world)
We are seeking the best guests for interview, whether remotely or in the studio. We aren’t just after the big names: we are looking for unexpected and original insight from all quarters. We need an enthusiastic and dogged producer to track down and land those guests in order to take our programming to new heights.
Whatever your level of seniority, if you like what we do and think one of these roles might suit you, please send a CV and cover letter to [email protected]
