It’s easy to be green when you live in Kensington

Can you afford to be green when you’re not rich? This question has become one of the most pressing challenges of the 21st century and something that public figures on both sides of the Atlantic have been left to grapple with. In recent years, the advent of environmental movements like Extinction Rebellion and green taxes have come under criticism for disproportionately affecting the working class more than any other group.

So when a councillor from Kensington and Chelsea (the wealthiest borough in the country) pointed out the high number of EV charge points his borough, it makes us think two things at once. Good for them, of course, and they are right to be proud; but it’s also a clear reminder that being green is a lot easier if you’re rich and live in a city…
